Matt Mullenweg and Wordcamp Las Vegas
Mike, Andrew, and I went to Wordcamp Las Vegas last Saturday. It was a two day thing. We only had time to attend the first day. (It’s all good, we really just wanted to see Matt lol)
He had a lot of things to say about the state of WordPress. (my favorite web engine – it’s not just a blog engine anymore) He talked about the history of WordPress and it’s rising from it’s B2 roots. Boy, that brought back some memories. I’d been following WordPress since 1.0 and installed it just before 1.5 came out.
He talked about WordPress MU and some I got some good ideas from that.
All in all it was a good speech and it affirmed my choice to stick with WordPress.
Here is his presentation:
I apologize for the video/audio quality. (we didn’t do this one – lol) It looked like it was shot with a logitech webcam and not sure what the mic was, but it doesn’t seem to be uni-directional.
CES in town, Las Vegas Word Camp
CES is in town again. That means AVN is as well. It’s crazy busy near the strip. According to some news sources about 130,000+ people are here for the convention.
I was planning on going, but there are only a couple things I am interested in seeing. Besides, I kind of have my plate full at the moment.
However, Andrew, Mike, and I are planning to attend the Las Vegas Wordcamp this weekend. It’s a two day seminar on WordPress. (my favorite blog/cms back end) We’ll see how it goes. There are a few things on the agenda that look promising. I’ll give you guys an update when we go. It was $20 to register and the creator of wordpress will be there so at least that’s something…. LOL
